C&P Drafting Trial is Coming Up!

C&P’s Veteran’s Weekend Drafting Trial (November 10-12) at the Collins Farm is nearing full entry. We can only register 15 dogs per day. Hurry now and sign up before all spots are taken. If you wish to just come and watch (and maybe even help out some), by all means. The more the merrier. If you would like to learn some more, there’s nothing like a trial to see how much work is put into training the dogs and how cool it is to see them excell in a working activity. More information is availabe on the club’s Events page.

GSMDCA/C&P GSMD Club Specialty Weekend

C&P would like to thank all of those who attended and/or supported the 2012 GSMD Club of America Eastern Regional Specialty. Only days before the show, the weather looked dreadful, but in the end, we had a beautiful weekend with record breaking numbers… even more numbers than the National Specialty! The quality of dogs presented were amazing and a true testament to the dedication people/breeders have in preserving and enhancing our breed. We had people from all over the U.S. attend … even from the West Coast! It’ll be tough to top the 2012 show, but we ready to tackle 2013! See you all next year!

C&P’s 1st Drafting Trial a Huge Success –

C&P GSMD Club hosted their first Drafting Trial on May 14 & 15, 2011 at the Collins Farm in Mt. Airy, MD and what a HUGE success it was. Of 11 entries on both days, 7 teams earned a leg or title on each day. We had new Novice titles, new Open titles, and legs earned towards Master titles. Additionally, there were two brace teams participating. One earned a leg towards their Master title and the other earned their Open title. C&P’s very own Mary Jo Rasmussen and Huck Bothner were our expert judges and did a fantastic job on top of educating many people about the rules and competition. We had many swissys present and we had a great Berner compete as well. People traveled anywhere from down the driveway to 8+ hours away to compete. The weather was making us a bit worried, but for the most part, it was perfect drafting weather and the temps stayed down and the rain was minimal. C&P wants to thank all the volunteers who helped in the ring and as stewards. We couldn’t have done it without you. Pictures are posted on C&P’s facebook page. For a direct link, please click here.
