Historic Old Towne Alexandria has a plethora of Potomac River Cruises and on every Thursday in the summer, they have one that you can bring you dog with you! Additionally… nothing says hanging out with friends like sharing a pint. Following the cruise there will be a social gathering outdoors at a local pub. Click on the Events page for more details.

C&P’s 1st Drafting Trial a Huge Success –

C&P GSMD Club hosted their first Drafting Trial on May 14 & 15, 2011 at the Collins Farm in Mt. Airy, MD and what a HUGE success it was. Of 11 entries on both days, 7 teams earned a leg or title on each day. We had new Novice titles, new Open titles, and legs earned towards Master titles. Additionally, there were two brace teams participating. One earned a leg towards their Master title and the other earned their Open title. C&P’s very own Mary Jo Rasmussen and Huck Bothner were our expert judges and did a fantastic job on top of educating many people about the rules and competition. We had many swissys present and we had a great Berner compete as well. People traveled anywhere from down the driveway to 8+ hours away to compete. The weather was making us a bit worried, but for the most part, it was perfect drafting weather and the temps stayed down and the rain was minimal. C&P wants to thank all the volunteers who helped in the ring and as stewards. We couldn’t have done it without you. Pictures are posted on C&P’s facebook page. For a direct link, please click here.

Rest in Peace Mr. Murph –

We wish to express condolences to Mercedes, Stephen, and Merrel for the loss of a beloved family member Murphy. We all know that he’s now happy and healthy playing with his old buddy Eiger. He was a sweet and gentle boy and will be missed by many.

Bridge between C&P Website & Facebook –

So… in an effort to make things more efficient with regards to keeping C&P Members and interested parties up to date, I have built in a new functionality to our club’s website. Whenever a new article, post, etc. is put onto the club’s website, there will be an automatic post on the C&P Facebook page. For example… when I post on the website the April Picture of the Month (please send submissions to me btw), it will automatically post a link on the C&P Facebook page for people to see. Same goes if I post a flyer for an upcoming event. Hopefully this will increase visibility into our club’s activities and doings and keep people involved.. If you have any comments, please let me (Kris) know.
